“A Day at Turtle Back Zoo – West Orange"
CHAIR’S PICNIC: Sunday - June 14, 2009
Join us with your families as we close out the first half of the 2009 meeting season with this family outing to the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange. Our Chair, Peter Sibilski, Fellow, P.E. invites you to have lunch on us.
The Turtleback Zoo, located in South Mountain Reservation, houses 500 animals of 200 different species. Focusing on New Jersey wildlife, the collection includes cougars, bison, eagles, and wolves, all of which were originally found in the state.
Other animals include elk, llamas, white-tailed deer, otters, owls, sea lions, and others, as well as domestic animals that kids can feed. A pony ride and a train ride add to the fun and excitement of visiting the animals.
NOTE: People arriving after 11:00 can pay the same group rate at the zoo entrance window, as long as they identify themselves as members of this group.
Plenty of FREE PARKING is available near the zoo entrance
